Collagen biostimulators are injectables that help your skin rebuild its own collagen, so results look natural and last. At Muguet Aesthetics we offer three:
Sculptra
Sculptra stimulates natural collagen production to gradually restore facial volume, improve skin firmness, and soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Radiesse
Stimulates collagen and elastin production to restore volume, enhance facial contours, improve skin firmness and quality, and promote a healthy, radiant glow.
EZ Gel
EZ Gel uses growth factors derived from your own blood to naturally rejuvenate and restore the skin. Ideal for patients seeking a natural alternative to traditional fillers, it helps refresh the delicate under-eye area, soften nasolabial folds, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and improve skin texture and elasticity for smoother, healthier looking skin.
How Collagen Stimulators Work
If you are noticing volume loss, thinning skin or early laxity and want results that look natural and last, collagen stimulators take a different path than traditional fillers. At Muguet Aesthetics we offer medically supervised collagen stimulation with Sculptra, Radiesse and EZ Gel for the face, neck and body.
Hyaluronic acid fillers add volume directly beneath the skin. Collagen stimulators work from the inside out, supporting your body’s production of new collagen over time. Where dermal fillers focus on filling a specific line or adding projection, biostimulators improve overall skin quality, firmness and elasticity, and the change builds gradually rather than appearing overnight.
Cheeks & Midface
Volume loss and hollowing, with support that can also soften nasolabial folds.
Jawline & Chin
Structural support where definition has softened over time.
Neck & Décolletage
Skin laxity, crepiness and fine lines.
Hands & Body
Select areas where skin has thinned.
Every treatment is performed or supervised by a licensed injector at our Newport Beach practice.
Sculptra
Sculptra is a collagen stimulating injectable made of poly-L-lactic acid microparticles. We use it for patients who want subtle results that build over time rather than an immediate change. Commonly used to restore facial volume and support overall facial rejuvenation.
Sculptra cannot be dissolved the way a hyaluronic acid filler can, so technique and a careful assessment at consultation matter more than usual.
| Key Ingredient | Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible collagen stimulator |
|---|---|
| Results Timeline | Results develop gradually over several weeks to months. |
| Duration | Results may last up to 2 years or longer |
| Best Uses | Diffuse facial volume loss, midface and cheek support, temple hollowing, skin laxity |
| Session Frequency | Most patients need 2 to 3 sessions, roughly 4 to 6 weeks apart |
| Texture Improvement | Smooths crepiness, thickens thinning skin, improves firmness and tone over months |
| Downtime | Mild swelling and bruising at injection sites, most patients back to normal within a day or two. |

Radiesse
Radiesse provides immediate structure while stimulating collagen and elastin production over time.
Structural Volume: Adds definition, contour, and lift to the jawline, chin, and cheeks.
Hyperdiluted Radiesse: Improves skin quality, firmness, and elasticity on the face, neck, hands, knees, and abdomen.
| Key Ingredient | Calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres in a gel carrier |
|---|---|
| Results Timeline | Immediate lift from the gel carrier, with collagen stimulation building over weeks to months |
| Duration | Many patients experience results lasting approximately 12 to 18 months, depending on the treatment area and individual response |
| Best Uses | Jawline and chin definition, cheek support, and skin quality on the face, neck, hands, knees and abdomen |
| Session Frequency | Some structural treatment plans may be completed in one session, while others require additional treatment or maintenance |
| Texture Improvement | Smooths fine lines and firms thin or crepey skin, especially when hyper-diluted |
| Downtime | Minor swelling and possible bruising, with most patients back to normal the next day |

EZ Gel
EZ Gel is a regenerative injectable treatment from your own blood components. It suits patients who would rather avoid a synthetic product, and it works well in delicate areas like tear troughs and the fine lines around the mouth where a traditional biostimulator may not be the right fit.
| Key Ingredient | Autologous platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) gel, derived from your own blood |
|---|---|
| Results Timeline | Gradual improvements in brightness, softness and skin quality may begin within the first few weeks, with results continuing to develop over the following months. |
| Duration | Varies by individual and treatment area |
| Best Uses | Under-eye rejuvenation, fine lines, early laxity, skin quality for patients preferring non-synthetic options |
| Session Frequency | A short series of sessions followed by periodic maintenance |
| Texture Improvement | Supports smoother, more hydrated skin where thinning or crepiness is beginning |
| Downtime | Includes a brief blood draw. Mild swelling or bruising is common, with same-day or next-day return to most activities. |

Which One Is Right for You
There is no single best product. The right choice depends on your facial structure, your skin, your goals and whether you prefer a synthetic or an autologous option.
Sculptra
Best for widespread volume loss, skin laxity and long term restoration, for patients comfortable with results that develop across two to three sessions.
Radiesse
Best for sharper definition along the jawline and cheeks when you want some immediate volume alongside collagen stimulation.
EZ Gel
Best for early signs of aging, delicate areas like tear troughs, and patients who want a treatment made from their own blood.
Biostimulators are often combined with Botox, hyaluronic acid fillers or microneedling, which is sometimes called collagen induction therapy. Muguet also offers PRF treatments, PRP facials and Salmon DNA skin boosters, where we use Rejuran. Rather than choosing a product yourself, we would rather match the approach to your anatomy at a consultation.
What to Expect
Before
A full assessment of your facial structure, skin and medical history, then a plain conversation about the options and the trade-offs. Preparation is simple. Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning supplements where medically appropriate, and arrive with clean skin.
During
A topical anesthetic is applied first. Most sessions run 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area. EZ Gel includes a short blood draw and processing step before the injection.
After
Expect mild swelling, tenderness or bruising at the injection sites, usually settling within several days. We schedule follow ups to track progress and adjust the plan.
Frequently Asked
Are collagen biostimulators safe?
Sculptra, Radiesse and EZ Gel all have well understood safety profiles when administered by a trained injector. The common side effects are minor swelling, bruising and tenderness at the injection site. Every patient gets a full medical history review before treatment.
What does it cost?
It depends on the product, the number of vials or syringes and the areas treated. You get a clear quote at your consultation before anything begins.
How many sessions, and how long do results last?
Most patients need an initial series plus periodic maintenance. Sculptra usually takes 2 to 3 sessions with results lasting up to two years or longer. Radiesse is often 1 to 3 sessions depending on volume loss, treatment area, and aesthetic goals. Biostimulators generally last longer than hyaluronic acid fillers.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes, and it usually is. Biostimulators pair well with Botox, hyaluronic acid fillers, microneedling and skin boosters. We plan the combination around your goals and your downtime so nothing is overdone.
Who is not a candidate?
Treatment is postponed when there is an active infection in the treatment area. Product-specific allergies, medical conditions, pregnancy and breastfeeding are reviewed during consultation, as safety and contraindications vary by treatment.
How is this different from filler?
Hyaluronic acid fillers primarily provide immediate volume or contour, whereas biostimulatory treatments are intended to create gradual changes by supporting collagen production. A biostimulator prompts your own collagen, so the change arrives slowly and lasts longer. Many patients end up using both for different jobs.
Natural, long lasting collagen restoration starts with the right plan. Every treatment at Muguet Aesthetics is medically guided and built around you.
